Sculpture with Paper Mache
3 weekly workshops - 1.5 hrs each meeting
You will be introduced to easy and accessible sculpting with paper mache and will be creating your own sculpted heads. Your sculpting experience will be intertwined with performance to create your own short video with your artwork.

This isn’t your kid’s paper mâché class! Join instructor Amanda Ba to discover the world of sculpture and create your own paper mâché masterpieces. Over the course of three sessions, you will design and craft your own paper mâché mask heads while learning basic essential sculptural techniques along the way. If you’ve been curious about making art with found objects, used paper and recycled materials, you have to discover the joy of paper mâché.
And there is another bonus - your sculpting experience will be intertwined with performance to create your own short video art. You will not only enhance your art skills with the practical and trendy sculpting techniques, but also will dip your toe into video art and performance with your sculptured pieces. Amanda Ba is most passionate and dedicated to her craft, and she will share it with you, guide you step by step to making your artistic visions come to life.

Meet your Instructor
Amanda Ba | Visual Artist
Amanda Ba is a graduate of Columbia University, majoring in Visual Arts and Art History. She had her first solo show last year in her hometown of Hefei, China. Amanda has spent time studying and working at various international institutions including the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin.
